Fénix – the children’s association is antonomous, democratic, voluntary organization of children, youth and adult people, where its members are able to meet their hobbies and needs, to improve their knowledge, obtain new abilities, find friendship and mutual understanding, they are able to depend on help and helping others.

Fénix is the organization represents upon the whole Slovakia and was established in 1991 in Bratislava city. Fénix is a member of The Youth Council of Slovakia (www.mladez.sk).

In its activities, Fénix moves according to Convention of children’s rights and the Charter of rights and freedoms. Our Locale Board of Directors in Snina was established in 1997.

The main target of Children’s Association is education of children and youth to independence, responsibility, respect and tolerance. We are taking into account that the child should be prepared for living in society with its own life and should be educated in ideas declared in Charter of the UN Organization – mainly in ideas of peace, dignity, tolerance, liberty, equality and solidarity.

Our main values are truth, hard-working, friendship, knowledge, protecting of nature, beneficence and faithfulness. We lead everybody who works with children to respect the fact the children should grow in family enviroment, in happyness, love and understanding feelings to its fully and harmonic personal evolution.

Our strategic targets are achieved by filling the leisure time of children and youth with various types of activities. We are expecting to find the better enviroment and resources in the future, that will allow us work more effective and more active with organizing of leisure time.

Members of Children’s Association Fénix work in specialized sections, groups, teams and clubs (sport-club, tourist-club, field-club, etc.) with an adult leader. Besides regular meetings, there are also one-day or more days activities and summer camps organized by Fénix.

The basic document of Children’s Association Fénix is statute. There are defined basic tasks of the association, targets, relationship with children, youth, adults and society. Any young person can become a member regardless of their background (social, national, religious or political).
